"The First 10 Switchers Get Free Concierge Migration. Here Is What That Means."

Contents

The offer is exactly what it sounds like, and I want to be specific about what it includes, because "free migration" can mean anything from "we have a tutorial" to "we do it for you." This is the second one, with limits.

#What you send me

Renting
Data on their servers. Price can change overnight. History is a hostage. Works only online.
Owning
Data on your disk. Price is done at purchase. History is a file you hold. Works offline, forever.

Two things. Your time tracker export

1
Export your CSV
[Harvest](/vs/harvest), [Toggl](/vs/toggl), [Clockify](/vs/clockify), or [FreshBooks](/migration)
2
Drop it in owntime
Drag anywhere on the app window
3
Read the preview
Rows found, imports, skip reasons
4
Confirm
Nothing writes until you say so
, Harvest or Toggl or Clockify or FreshBooks, in CSV. And your rate card, which is a simple list of your clients and the rates you bill them at. A spreadsheet, a screenshot, a bullet list in an email. It does not need to be formatted. I have seen all formats and I can work with all of them.

#What I send you back

One file. timesheet.db, ready to open in owntime. Your clients are set up. Your projects are under the right clients. Your rates are attached. Your unbilled entries are imported. You open the app, and your history is there, and the invoice view shows you what you can bill today.

#What is included

The migration of clients, projects, tasks, rates, and time entries from your export. One round of corrections after you review it, because the first version is sometimes off by a client name or a rate, and I want it to be right.

#What is not included

I will not clean a dirty export for you. If your CSV has entries with no project, or rates that are clearly wrong, or duplicate clients with slightly different names, I will migrate what is there and tell you what looks off. Cleaning the data is your job, because you are the one who knows whether "Acme Ltd" and "ACME Limited" are the same client.

I will not migrate invoices, because invoices are historical records and they do not need to move. What needs to move is the unbilled time and the client structure. That is what I migrate.

I will not do this for more than ten people, because I am a solo developer and I do this by hand in the evenings, and my evenings are finite.

#Why I offer this

Two reasons, one selfish and one not.

The not-selfish reason: switching trackers is the part that stops people. The features look good, the price looks good, but the migration looks hard, and they stay where they are. I want the migration to be the easiest part of the switch, so the decision is about the tool, not about the move.

The selfish reason: every person who switches is a person who gives me feedback. Real feedback, from real usage, on what breaks and what is missing. The first ten switchers are the most valuable users I have, because they are the ones telling me what to build next. Free migration is a fair trade for that.

#How to claim it

Buy a license. Send the export and the rate card to migrate@owntime.click with the subject "Concierge migration." I will confirm it is within the first ten, do the migration, and send back the file, usually the same day on weekdays, within a 24 hour window.

If the first ten are gone, the offer is gone. The self-serve import still works and takes about ten minutes, but the hand-done migration is capped, and I will not quietly expand the cap and hope nobody notices.

#The honest bottom line

✓License does not expire
✓Vendor cannot reprice you
✓Data is a file you hold
✓Works offline, forever

This is a real offer from a real person. I open the files. I set up the clients. I send back a ready timesheet. It is capped at ten because I only have so many evenings, and I would rather be honest about the limit than promise something I cannot deliver.

If you are within the first ten, take me up on it. If you are not, the self-serve import is good enough for most people. Either way, the migration should not be the thing that stops you.
