Legal
License: what you buy, what you keep
v0.3.0 · [DATE] · [YOUR LEGAL NAME]
1. The deal
This is the deal between us (we, us) and you. When you pay for owntime, download it, or just open it, you say yes to this. If you don’t, don’t use it. Simple.
2. What you get
One payment, one license. It’s yours, for good, worldwide, not shared, not resold. Put it on up to three machines you own. Use it for client work, your shop, whatever is legal. That’s it.
3. Data is yours. The app is ours.
Your stuff stays yours. Time, clients, projects, invoices, notes, photos — all of it lives in files on your disk. We have no copy, no claim, no way to read it. And we like it that way.
The app stays ours. You can’t sell it on, rent it, or pass the installer around. Don’t pull it apart to clone it, unless your local law says you may. Fair is fair.
4. Updates
You get every v1.x update, free. If we ship a big v2 one day, that one may cost. But v1 keeps working. Forever, offline, whether you ever pay again or not.
5. No rent, no seats
One buy. No monthly, no per-seat, no “pro” gate that appears later. If we stop making owntime, your copy still runs. It doesn’t check in, so there’s nothing to turn off.
6. Privacy is the feature
There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporter phoning home. See how we treat data — short version: we can’t see it.
7. If you want your money back
30 days, any reason. Reply to the receipt (LemonSqueezy sends it). We don’t ask why. We’d rather you leave on good terms.
8. As is
THE APP COMES AS IS. No promise it fits every purpose, no promise it never has a bug. We built it careful, but we can’t warrant the moon.
9. If something goes wrong
By law, if we owe you, we owe at most what you paid. Not your lost billings, not the client you lost, not the data you didn’t back up. So back it up. It’s a file — copy it.
10. If you break the deal
Then the deal ends, and you should delete your copies. Sections 6, 8, and 9 still count after that.
11. Law
[YOUR PLACE] law. Courts there sort it. Replace the brackets before you ship.
Heads up: this is a plain-language start, not a lawyer’s final. And we’re not your lawyer. Have someone good read it before you bet the shop on it. Seriously. One hour with a local lawyer will save you a year of worry.
