Help · Moving data
The activity log
A short history of what changed, for the times you cannot remember whether you already did something.
What gets recorded
- Imports how many entries, and from which tracker.
- Invoices marked sent, payments recorded, credit notes applied, invoices voided, drafts made from a retainer.
- Deletions what was deleted, with the message the app showed you, and whether you then undid it.
- Clients and projects when they were added.
- Restores which backup you put back.
- Budget alerts which ones were emailed out.
Where to read it
Settings → Activity log. The newest few are shown with a timestamp, and the count of entries kept is beside the clear button.
It is capped, on purpose
Five hundred entries, newest kept. A log that grows forever in a file you carry around is a liability, so this one stays small enough to be useful and cheap to store.
What it is not
It is not a compliance audit trail. It records the actions owntime knows to log, in a file you own and can edit, on a machine you control. That is enough to answer “did I already send that?” and nowhere near enough to satisfy an auditor, and it would be dishonest to suggest otherwise.
Clearing it
Clear log empties it, behind a confirmation. Your data is untouched. Only the history of changes goes.
