The timesheet

The grid view. One row per project, one column per day, and a total that you can check at a glance before you bill anyone.

What it is for

  • Filling the gaps. When a day went unrecorded, type the hours straight into the cell instead of making separate entries.
  • Correcting. A wrong number is one click to fix, in place, with no dialog.
  • Checking before invoicing. The week total across the bottom is the number you are about to bill.

Editing a cell

Click any cell, type the hours, press Enter. That is the whole interaction. What you type becomes a normal entry, so it behaves exactly like timed work everywhere else: it can be tagged, re-rated, put on a budget and invoiced.

How it relates to Time Entries

They are two views of one thing. Timesheet is the calendar shape, good for a week at a time. Time Entries is the list shape, good for selecting a batch to invoice. Both edit the same entries, so nothing has to be kept in sync by hand.

If a period should stop changing

Settings has a lock for entries older than a number of days. Useful once a quarter has been billed and you would rather not nudge a number you already sent a client.
